Ambling<\/p>
The tarred road turns to the gravel track, now through grassy meadows, we amble.
I climb the gates and stiles, while my friends slip through a hole, then we follow the farmers tractor flattened tracks
One loves the long grass and zooms around in pure joy, the other occasionally roams, but mostly brushes my knee
The Zoomer making circles around the Brush-knee and me, the Brush-knee bemused by all the zooming and noise
The excitement over, we all amble along the way, the dew still held in the grass, dampening our feet
Trees and bushes give way to reeds and rushes, as we near the stream, but we only hear it, not see, as reeds obscure our view
So, we amble along it\u2019s hidden bank, to a simple bridge and spy across the field the banks of something bigger
As we near, a pair of Herons take flight, skipping the water as they go, but the Swans move for no one, as they regally glide by
Zoomer and Brush-knee are looking for a way in, but this is a path untrod & the banks are covered in weeds
After a further amble we come to an almost hidden path, leading straight to the water's edge, an anglers access, maybe?
Zoomer & Brush-knee cool off & drink their fill, before we head off to find our way back to the trail
A gate climbed & friends coaxed through the gaps, two fields more & another stile, before the trail is back in view

As the stems appear, from the bulbs within\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>
Each day that passes, there is a minute or two, more light\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>
As day gradually takes over from the night\u00a0<\/p>
\u00a0<\/p>
But we must not rest on our laurels just yet\u00a0<\/p>
Wintery blasts, can still pose an icy threat\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>
And rivers that broke their banks and made lakes of land\u00a0<\/p>
Can freeze over at nature\u2019s command\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>
\u00a0<\/p>
And now invite our children, seeking their play\u00a0<\/p>
Unheeding the warnings to stay away\u00a0<\/p>
So, fun turns to a tragedy, in the blink of an eye\u00a0<\/p>
